The attitude of the 521 single medical students of Iran University of Medical Sciences toward marriage was studied. Subject from different educational levels were selected through cluster and simple random sampling methods. The instrument used in this study was an attitude questionnaire which its reliability had been established through test-retest procedure and its face validity had also been confirmed. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and analysis of variance (ANOVA), t-test and Scheffe test. Results showed that students' attitude was generally positive, and with regard to variables such as age, socio-economic status, place of living, educational levels there was significant difference. Results also indicated that students in the age range of 26-30, low income group, non-resident students and those who had made the decision to get married have a more positive attitude than the other groups. The findings also showed that economic, social and family support and resolution of problematic obstacles have significant main roles in young adults inclination to get married.
