The present study envisages to look at the nature of occupational stressors and mental health problems in a group of hospital employees at the Zahedan University of Medical Sciences. The study was carried out on 130 employees chosen from various hospitals in Zahedan. Results reveal that there is a significant relationship between occupational stress, depression and anxiety. No sex differences were observed with regard to psychological problems and level of stress. Furthermore, the level of stress, depresion , as well as anxiety, is higher in the medical staff than the office staff. On the whole, the most stressful factors were: fear of failure at the job, inadequate understanding of employee problems by the management, and low opinion of the assigned job by the employees.
