Results: 3477 subjects had been examined in the reviewed articles. The age range for men and women was 30-39 and below 30 respectively. 71.8% and 53.5% had a history of mood disorder and drug abuse with the aim of suicide respectively. The prevalence of suicide was calculated to be 9.4 in 100000. Conclusion: The prevalence of suicide in Iran is lower than its relative global prevalence and the principal method of suicide is poisoning with drugs. Women attempt suicide twice as much as men.
